The Black Keys’ “Dropout Boogie” could not be more evidence of the dangling persistence of what the duo is still able to bring to the table regarding fresh blues-rock. Starting from the foundations that were laid down with ‘Brothers’, ‘Lonely Boy’ still retains the Black Keys’ vibrant and infectious sound. “For The Love Of The Money” marks the start of the CD and invites to party giving one an impressive vibe of a classic rock song. The pair demonstrates their musicianship on the record – especially on song that is “Burn The Damn Thing Down” featuring Auerbach’s husky voice mixed with electrical guitar. The messages conveyed in the songs may not be about the musicianship’s revolution or anything of that sort but there is plenty of evidence within each song to show that The Black Keys know how to have a good time. ‘Dropout Boogie’ is a homage to the joy of youth culture and rock ‘n’ roll, urging the audience to dance whilst also paying attention to guitar solos.
