‘Push Ups’ ‘Rosary’ is a hark back to alt-rock mid-nineties style tune with beautiful melody. As the band that inspired this project – At the Drive-In, the Get Up Kids and Elliott Smith – this New York based project features a catchy-drive feel from the start. The song begins with the harmonic singing that may act perfectly as an inspiring background for the powerful guitar rage. Across the song, there isn’t a lot of singing as it is manifested by just periodic vocals which are again a perfect foil for the hyper-amped retro guitar sounds, making it an irresistibly sweet chew. Depending on how many of these bands you’ve listened to, the A-side of the ‘Rosary’ record might feel like old friends and partners in crime back on the scene – the ones you knew you could always turn to and get high with, or at least catch a buzz when all your friends slowly faded away in the scene you both once knew and loved.
