New York City’s indie rock band Dawn Park doesn’t deviate far from tradition of a lot of rock and roll from the ’80s and early 2000s in the energetic track “Crown”, but the track exists very much in the now. Starting the platform with a right kind of suave and lively feel on guitar and vocales the track makes a favorable warm guitar distortion. The ‘Call and response’ manner in which vocals are laid one over the over provides another layer to the anthem like feel creating a special connection with the audience before the schools them into the emotional harvest of the song and then into an invigorating chant. Such change in strums makes each moment interesting and exciting or even farewell strums and the changes in tones used also makes each moment memorable. In this EP “Crown” and moving from 300 vocal style in the previous duet however Sseayawcheow Hwasa and Mimi decide to appeal to the general population to show that even though they have grown and in love, they have not forgotten the duo which produced the old school element paired up with modern day flare – living Happily ever after.
