The album ‘Autofiction’ can be accredited to Suede as an embodiment of the band’s progression to punk rock, unadulterate and full-frontal. This album seems to be the product of Brett Anderson and the band getting some frustration out that seem to have been building up. Songs such as “15 Again” and “She Still Leads Me On” uses the catchy tune as a cover for deep lyrics, thus creating a nice twist. It is raw to some extent, because, as much as the band always wanted to be relevant in this new generation, they want to retain the rawness, the simplicity which they embraced in those early days. Some songs of the record are clearly personal and concerned with Suede’s cultural position but more important it clarifies that Suede is very much an important band of today’s music scene.
