With “Seek Shelter” Iceage has offered a new bid for a new sound so drastically changed from the punk rock of their earlier work to post punk or new wave sound. It defined this band’s growth by effectively combining of power ballads with epic rock that is found in this fifth album. That is why songs like “Shelter Song” as well as “The Holding Hand” mention it since the band is capable of giving out emotions that can be sensed through audio. It is a grand recording inspired by the brass section and a choir and an orchestra for supporting the vocal themes which are related to the hardships and success. Surprisingly the rebellion is still intact and familiarly present despite the change in the stylistic approach, the identity of the Danes is not unrecognizable. “Seek Shelter” is a song of juxtaposition, tune and tempo which instruct the fans to take challenge for afresh effort in discovering oneself and strength.
