Hummer’s latest song “edge of the earth,” can also be added to their growing list of enchanting rock & roll inclinations that is seen as an extension of their first song release. These initial notes start with oppressively heavy bass, and a purveyor of the song might hear vibrations resembling a plummeting airplane when first transported into the song’s ambient sphere. Twangy guitar bits can be heard with relative ease with the other layers once again being contributed by moody vocals which add to the mysteriousness of the song. As the song goes on, burring guitar distortion sounds like the crackling ignition of power perfectly combining textured 90’s sound and raw contemporary energy. Aaron and I had similar thoughts about the themes of feeling lost and acceptance, so ‘edge of the earth’ will be a powerful tool for anyone going through the turmoil of a relationship. This track tells the listeners, embrace your feelings and grow up from them.
