The new single, “Hit Nothing” by The Pretty Flowers is like a shimmery, ear of rock ‘n roll energy and completely takes me back to early eighties music. Taking ideas from childhood dream, the quartet from Los Angeles provides a listener with elements of the past and contemporary appeal. The words and the rhymes are humorous in a filthy manner to perfectly illustrate the views that are expected from one by the record label bosses, in respect to the battle for creative freedom. The guitar appears eventually after two minutes this gives the track a brighter feel on top of the anthemic feel that is driven deep into the song. Though lyrically it hammers on the sting of societal pressures and begging to be accepted for who one is, “Hit Nothing” is a charming pop anthem thatCapture the essence of making music for the love of it.”
