Webs by Matthew And The Arrogant Sea is a pure rocker with a nice nostalgic vibe with also a modern hop and bounce to it. The constant jangle of guitar and steady, playful feel invites comparisons to Parklife era Blur and is nigh on impossible to ignore. The main attractive thesis “I keep spinning my webs” for such song feels catchy yet is provoking the subject to think about their webs they create. Throughout the play of this track, at one point around two shot minutes a buzzing synth introduces a new layer of melodic hook to the track’s upbeat feel. Hailed for over 20 years now, the band proves at impressing fans with their ability to write catchy, singable tunes. One can find the distinct cuteness of their discography and their Web’s progression in this concept album, “Webs.”
